Ostwind 2

On behalf of 50Hertz, De Romein Group is carrying out work on the Ostwind 2 project in Lubmin, Germany. Ostwind 2 connects several offshore wind farms to the German high-voltage network. The route, approximately 2.6 kilometers long, runs from the Lubmin substation to the Greifswalder Bodden (Baltic Sea). At this point in the route, the land cable terminates and the sea cable begins.

The work involves preparing the route and excavating pits that will later be used for jointing (welding). Additionally, we are extending the existing conduit pipes for the high-voltage cables using electro-welding. We are also pouring concrete slabs that will serve as the foundation for the high-voltage joints.

After the high-voltage joints are completed, we sealed the pits and restored the surface back to its original condition. To install the sheet pile wall, we utilized our Sennebogen 653 E.

The work is located near several high-voltage cables that are live. Therefore, we implemented a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standard that significantly exceeds the legal requirements for this project.
