Commissioned by PPS Pipeline Systems GmbH, De Romein Group has worked on the Beveren - Zwijndrecht project.

The project involved renewing the natural gas pipeline network with a length of 5.2 kilometers.

Our expertise:

During this project, De Romein Group supported the main contractor in pipeline construction and took on all civil engineering tasks. The work was carried out under strict safety regulations.

Key features:

  • Clearing and ensuring the work area is obstacle-free
  • Implementing and maintaining mitigation measures (5,160 m)
  • Excavating and redistributing topsoil along the entire route
  • Setting up HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) launch and reception pits
  • Transporting gas pipes from Winksele
  • Moving gas pipeline sections along the entire route using blocks
  • Excavating the entire pipeline route
  • Breaking up and subsequently restoring asphalt structures
  • Breaking up and later restoring road foundations
  • Removing and restoring paving materials, including the foundation
  • Constructing a roadway using dragline mats on a sand foundation
  • Installing warning mesh and concrete slabs above the gas pipeline
  • Supplying and installing conduit pipes for fiber optic cables (4,600 m)
  • Providing and placing reception pits for the fiber optic route
  • Backfilling and compacting the entire gas pipeline route
  • Restoring the entire working area in a manner compliant with environmental standards
  • Supplying and installing signage for the gas pipeline route
