Official start of new construction
The head office of De Romein in Veendam is relocating to a new site on Industrieweg in Veendam. Construction began in February 2021, and the move is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of De Romein Group's business operations. De Romein Group is a knowledge organization that supports governments and companies across Europe with various services, including cable installation and pipeline construction. We offer a comprehensive package in civil engineering for ground, road, and water construction. With over 200 permanent employees, a variety of excavators, trucks, and HDD-guided drilling machines, De Romein Group has become an indispensable player in the contracting industry. In addition to our head office in Veendam, we have branches in Drongen (B), Chantilly (F), Wiedemar (D), Marne (D), Neermoor (D), and Apen (D).
Owner and founder of De Romein Group, Robin Meijer, was born and raised in Veendam. This is one of the reasons our head office is located there. Due to the ongoing growth of our company, the activities of our head office, support, and workshop are currently spread across three locations in Veendam. With the new construction, we will consolidate these operations into one location on Industrieweg in Veendam. De Romein Group will have approximately 22,000 square meters of land at this new site. By the end of this year, the move to the new location should be complete. The new site will accommodate 70 office staff, a well-equipped workshop featuring modern technology, and a dedicated washing station with a covered outdoor area.
The official start of the new construction took place on Thursday, February 25, 2021. In the presence of family and management, Robin Meijer's parents, Joop and Ineke Meijer, laid the first foundation stone for the outdoor covering.
