THREE POWERHOUSES FOR DE ROMEIN GROUP

De Romein Group recently took delivery of three impressive MAN TGX 8x4 heavy haulage tractors. These vehicles are crucial for the complex underground high-voltage cable projects in which the company is involved.                              With an emphasis on energy transition, De Romein Group is working on the largest cable construction projects in northern Germany, where new high-voltage connections are being built from northern to southern Germany.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR HEAVY LOADS

With an engineering capacity of no less than 335 tons and an Af fabriek with WSK torque converter, these tractors are perfectly equipped to transport heavy cable reels of up to 97 tons.

Ronnie Blokzijl, responsible for the machinery and vehicle fleet, explains:  “Our fleet of 30 trucks no longer met the requirements of this project.  Together with MAN Netherlands and Sommerauer Trucks, part of Wierda Bedrijfswagens, these three trucks were then put together.”

ADJUSTMENTS FOR MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY

The trucks are custom-built to meet De Romein Group's specific requirements. This includes modifications such as a special rack behind the cab, WVT side transmitters and heavy-duty register couplers front and rear, each good for 100 tons. The 15.26-liter D38 engine offers 640 horsepower and an impressive 4,740 Nm of torque.

SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE

To ensure the performance of these new vehicles, they have been placed under a maintenance and repair contract with the MAN dealer.                        In addition, a series of modular Goldhofer low loaders have been purchased to further optimize transport.
