De Romein Group renovates Gasunie site in Kootstertille

De Romein Group carried out extensive remediation work for Gasunie in Kootstertille. The project began with the complete dismantling of the nitrogen plant, including the foundations, the main building, and two outbuildings.

Next, the technical installations were removed: actuators, instrumentation, and control cabinets for the valves, followed by the dismantling and removal of seven scrubbers. The gas streets were also completely remediated: a total of 750 meters of 48" pipes and more than 400 meters of smaller pipes, together with all foundations. In addition, the project team removed 100 meters of cable ducts with cabling and 1,000 m² of paving was removed.

To optimally prepare the site for future use, 250 meters of drainage was installed, six new light poles were placed, and the grounding and lightning protection system was modified. Finally, we delivered and processed 1,700 m³ of sand and 1,300 m³ of black soil for a neat and safe finish to the site.

Thanks to this extensive work, De Romein Group has provided Gasunie with a completely cleaned up, safe, and future-proof site.
